Rev. Kim Scales-Hicks
Scales-Hicks, Rev. Kim Was born on May 27, 1959 in Gary, IN. to William and Evette Scales. She departed this life on April 11, 2012. She was dedicated to her professions as a speech language pathologist for Aegis Therapies and an associate minister for First Baptist Church. She received a MS in Speech Pathology from Purdue University, a Master's of Divinity in Theology from the McCormick Theological Seminary and a B.S. in Communications Disorders from Northwestern University. Kim graduated from Lew Wallace High School in 1977. She leaves to cherish her memory husband Kenneth Hicks; three sons, Christian, Cameron and Caden; parents, William and Evette Scales; three siblings Darnae Scales, Shari Lyn Scales Finnell, and Stacy "Mausiki" Scales; grandmother Minnie Scales; mother-in-law, Correne Hicks; two sisters-in-law, Stacey (Darnae) Scales and Karen Hicks, and a host of other relatives and friends. Visitation is Sunday, April 15, 2012, from 2 p.m.-8 p.m. Family hour 7-8:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church, 626 W. 21st Avenue, Gary, IN. Funeral services are Monday, April 16, 2012 at 11 a.m. at the Church. Entombment Evergreen Memorial Park.
