August 2006. We are sadden to report that classmate Jim Wrights brother Danny (LW 1974) passed away July 28, 2006. We extend our deepest sympathy to the Wright family. Below is the obituary from the Post Tribune.

DANNY M. WRIGHT Portage, Indiana Age 50, passed away Friday, July 28, 2006. Danny was a lifelong Northwest Indiana resident and graduate of Lew Wallace High School in Gary. He was a Navy veteran and a member of the elite Navy Seals during the Vietnam War. Dan was the owner of Dan's Auto Sales, located at 73rd & Broadway in Merrillville until he closed it. He was subsequently employed at the Blue Chip Casino in Michigan City. Danny was a member of Hobart VFW Post No. 5365, SAL American Legion Post No. 100 in Lake Station, American Legion Post No. 430 in Merrillville and the American Legion Riders. Danny is survived by his wife, Jackie Morse-Wright; daughter, Megan (Fred) Goss of Hobart; son, Matt (Jennifer Wright of Hobart; granddaughter, Olivia Goss; mother, Maxine Wright of Hobart; sister, Sheila (Larry) Redick of Texas; brother, James (Connie) Wright of DeMotte, IN; stepson, Aaron Morse of Portage; nieces and nephews. His father, Lamuel Wright, and son, Daniel Justin "Danny" Wright preceded him in death. Funeral services will be Wednesday, August 2, 2006 beginning with 9:20 a.m. prayers at Rees Funeral Home, 600 West Old Ridge Rd., Hobart and then proceeding to St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Lake Station for a 10:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial with Father Andrew Corona celebrating the Mass. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Portage, IN. Visitation is Tuesday from 2:00 to 9:00 p.m. There will be a 4:30 p.m. prayer service and a 7:00 p.m. combined American Legion and VFW service at Rees Funeral Home, Hobart Chapel.

September 25, 2002. Classmate Larry Osika's nephew, Craig Osika was signed to the San Francisco 49ers NFL football team as a Center. Congratulations Craig. Click here to see the 49ers web page.
